I am forever sad I couldn’t meet Kara & Brennan in person myself and photography this lovely proposal at this stunning Swiss mountain lake. I unfortunately got sick the day before and was trying to not throw up again while Johanna, my handsome associate, did photograph the proposal instead on digital and on film. I had the honor to edit the photos afterwards and give them the final touch. When Brennan reached out to me and asked me to help him plan and photograph his proposal for Kara I was so excited! He seemed to be such a friendly, creative and just really nice guy. Together we brainstormed different options reachable by car or train. We ended up going for the Seebergsee a stunning mountain lake in Switzerland nestled in the Bernese highland. This Swiss mountain lake is easy reachable by car after a short 20 minute walk. Also not as known as the famous Oeschinen Lake which is perfect to propose with nobody else around and have some privacy for this special happening. It ended up being the most beautiful and sunny autumn morning in the Swiss Alps and Kara said yesss, yay! They had a wonderful time with Johanna and explored the site around the lake together. What should we wear for a winter proposal shoot?
For a winter shoot in the Bernese Highlands, cozy and stylish layers are the way to go! Think warm sweaters, scarves, and neutral-colored winter jackets that blend beautifully with the snowy mountain scenery. Sturdy boots are essential if we’re venturing into the snow, and thermal layers will help keep you warm during the session. To make things extra cozy, I’ll bring hot tea for you. Don’t worry about the weather! If it rains or snows, we’ll adapt by moving to sheltered areas, such as rustic mountain huts or natural overhangs. The Bernese Highlands are beautiful in all conditions, and I’ll make sure we capture unique and memorable shots no matter what.

How long will the session last?
A proposal photoshoot typically lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. This allows us enough time to capture your special moment and explore the breathtaking surroundings of the mountain lake. I recommend scheduling the shoot during the early morning or late afternoon, as these times provide the best natural light for photography. If we have creative ideas or a particularly stunning location to explore, we’ll take our time to ensure the session is relaxed and stress-free, resulting in unforgettable images.
