I think this Family Photography Session in Grindelwald was the best family photoshoot I’ve ever had?! It was love on both ends from the first interaction. Kate was so kind at e-mailing me back and forth to fix a date and the location. They traveled Europe for some weeks and also spend some days in Grindelwald. One of the most famous villages at the Swiss Alps in Switzerland so really worth a stay. We met in the early morning on a warm summer day and had so much fun together. Their kids were literally the coolest and funniest I have ever seen! So giggly, so brave and just so so cute, holy moly! I loved to capture their family connection and dynamic, laugh together and collect some tiny little flowers. Kate and Kyle stayed super calm through the whole photoshoot although it’s always a funny and perfect mess to do photos with kids haha. I not only could photograph them on digital but also fill up a film roll which I enjoyed to much. The photos did turn out sooo magical and cute, so happy about the final results. We also ended up walking to their dreamy stay in Grindelwald to take some photos there too. The sun came out and it was just a perfect family morning. Thanks for your trust and the best time! It was such an honor to me! (:
To my future families who would love to do a family photo session in Grindelwald: Note that almost everything is farmer land and that it is really hard to get away from the path legally. One cool solution could be to book a picnic made by Marlies to have legal access to stunning places in Grindelwald. I am here to help you plan. (: Reach out to me here.

What should we wear for a winter family shoot?
For winter photoshoots in Grindelwald, cozy layers are key! Think warm sweaters, scarves, and neutral-colored jackets that complement the snowy backdrop. Comfortable winter boots are a must, especially if we’ll be walking in the snow. Thermal layers will keep you warm, and I recommend bringing hand warmers or blankets for extra comfort during breaks. I’ll even bring hot tea for the family to enjoy! (:
Weather and Backup Plans
What happens if the weather isn’t ideal?
No need to worry about the weather—we’ll adapt! If it rains or snows heavily, we can move to sheltered areas, such as cozy cabins or charming indoor spots in Grindelwald. Overcast skies or light snow can add a magical touch to your photos, while clear sunny weather offers stunning mountain views. No matter what, we’ll make the best of the conditions to create unforgettable family memories.
Duration of the Photoshoot
How long does a family photoshoot take?
A typical family photoshoot lasts about 1 hour, which gives us plenty of time to capture a variety of shots in Grindelwald’s beautiful surroundings. I recommend scheduling the session for early morning or late afternoon when the natural light is soft and flattering. If we have creative ideas or multiple locations to explore, I’m happy to extend the session to ensure we capture every special moment without stress. (:
