This Elopement in the Swiss Alps was a creative collaboration with another photographer friend, a wonderful couple and a talented flower artist in Switzerland. We wanted to do something colorful and oh my goodness the flower arrangement turned out amazing! It was such a cool and fun evening in the Swiss Alps! First we captured the couple reading vows and did take some photos with the last light of the day. Later as it turned dark we did some creative editorial photo with the flash. I personally love to do flash photos in the dark. And even better to do some fun photos of an eloping couple which is so freaking beautiful and cool hey! (: I loved to plan this creative Elopement Session and it was so much fun to have so many creative people alongside. Enjoy the photos (:

Elopement FAQ’s
What is the difference between a traditional wedding and an elopement?
Answer: An elopement is a more intimate and often spontaneous celebration, usually with no guests or just a few close ones, taking place at a special location. Unlike a traditional wedding, the focus of an elopement is on the personal connection and preferences of you as a couple.
How to plan an Elopement in the Swiss Alps?
Answer: Planning an elopement requires thoughtful consideration. Finding the perfect location, obtaining necessary permits, and coordinating with vendors are essential steps. I’m happy to assist you with my experience! (: Compared to a traditional wedding, an elopement involves significantly less planning and is often much more affordable. It’s a dream come true for adventure and nature lovers. Here’s a full planning guide to help you plan your Elopement in Switzerland.
What are the benefits of an elopement in the mountains for wedding photography?
Answer: The Swiss Alps offer breathtaking natural backdrops, ideal for intimate wedding photography. Pristine nature, majestic mountains, and picturesque locations create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend saying your vows in such a stunning setting—you won’t regret it! To capture the day in its entirety, I suggest both photography and a wedding video.
Is an elopement only for couples who are already married?
Answer: No, an elopement is suitable for all couples, whether they are already married or not. It’s a unique way to share intimate moments and celebrate love. You can combine a traditional wedding with an elopement, just as Leyre and Juan did. They hosted a larger wedding at home in Spain and then took a day to elope at Oeschinensee in Switzerland. They cherished their time together, exchanging vows in private. I thought it was a fantastic solution to celebrate with family and friends while also dedicating time to each other. After all, shouldn’t a wedding include both? (:
How do you choose the perfect location for an elopement?
Answer: The location should reflect your personality and make your hearts beat faster. For example, Rosenlaui was the perfect magical and beautiful setting for one of my couples’ elopements.
Which season is best for an elopement in the Swiss Alps?
Answer: The ideal season depends on your preferences. Do you dream of snowy landscapes, vibrant orange autumn trees with epic fog, or a stunning sunset on a Swiss mountain pass? I’m happy to share my expertise and assist in the planning process. Here’s a guide to find the best location.
How do you handle unpredictable weather during an elopement?
Answer: Flexibility is key. For Angie and Jeremy’s elopement, we were prepared for cold weather and still managed to capture breathtaking photos. A solid Plan B and the right equipment are crucial. Options include having a backup location, a rescheduling date, or simply dancing in the rain. (:
Can an elopement include an after-wedding ceremony?
Answer: Yes, many couples choose an after-wedding (or pre-wedding) ceremony as part of their elopement to exchange vows again or perform special rituals.
